I have been preserving flowers for over ** years. I specialize in wedding flowers and enjoy preserving bridal bouquets, buttonholes and corsages. Most flowers can be successfully made into pictures.

Flowers can be collected from a local event, by arrangement or delivered to my address also by arrangement. The sooner I receive the flowers, especially if the weather is hot, the better.

While you are waiting to bring them please keep them as cool and dark as possible. Many hotels will be happy to keep them in the cellar for you.

I also paint watercolours and enjoy combining my paintings with preserved plant material. I make special occasion cards and christmas cards which I sell at local events. I have been showing at Patchings Art centre at the summer festival for many years and also at their Christmas fair at the end of November.

Attenborough Nature Reserve has also hosted several exhibitions of my paintings.

Prices for preserved wedding bouquets range from £** for a corsage to £*** for a picture **"x**", complete and ready to hang.

Preserving Special Occasion Flowers

Dried Wedding Flowers

Most wedding flowers can be dried and arranged in a box frame to make a three dimensional memento of the wedding day. After being photographed the bouquet is taken apart flower by flower and most flowers are put to dry in containers with a special de-hydrating compound.

Some "awkward" flowers, such as orchids and lilies are treated separately. Every flower is dried so as to keep its shape and colour as nearly as possible. Our box frames are individually made and the flowers are arranged on a silk or satin pad. Wedding dress material can be used for this if you have some spare.

Pressed Wedding Flowers

Flowers can also be pressed and made into a framed picture. This is a time consuming process as the flowers are taken apart petal by petal. They are then reassembled on a silk or satin background to make a representation of the bouquet, corsage or buttonhole.

Each preservation is unique and specially tailored with your wishes in mind. You will have a wonderful picture to remind you of that special day for many years to come.
